New York Adult & Teen Challenge is here to help build a strong foundation for long term sobriety through the hope that is found within our centers. We are focused on healing the mind, heart, and soul of all who enter the doors of New York Adult & Teen Challenge by providing a faith-based approach so individuals can live their lives with confidence and to the fullest potential. Because the program is long term, it gives individuals the time they need to heal and grow in their new-found sobriety. New York Adult & Teen Challenge programs are long-term residential treatment options for individuals looking for freedom from the vicious cycle of addiction. For the duration of our program, students will partake in scheduled daily activities such as counseling, group devotionals, and work therapy. Our centers are a structured home environment; therefore, students are given the opportunity to learn basic responsibilities such as how to upkeep a home and how-to live-in harmony with those around them. One way we help teach responsibility and a positive worth ethic is though work therapy. We have found that as we offer various possibilities for exposure to a variety of work experience, students begin to learn the importance of having a good work ethic. This assists our students in seeing the value and the implications of work in their lives. New York Adult & Teen Challenge is a faith-based program which is what differentiates us from other programs. We believe that true healing, growth, and freedom is found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We partake in daily devotions, basic biblical studies, and Church Services. Classes on how to adjust to newfound sobriety are taught with a biblical perspective to help set students up for success during and after completion of the program. All staff are equipped to encourage, love, and guide the students into freedom from addiction through the love of Christ. New York Adult & Teen Challenge is an organization that seeks to promote excellence and comfort to those they serve. The ultimate goal is to see lives that are transformed, not just conformed to a certain standard. We desire to build men and women who will go on to be great assets to their families, their churches, and the community at large. We strive to include the family in the process that our students are involved in so that they can grow as well as the student. It is then that we see the restoration of individuals as well as their families. If you would like to regain control over the things that are currently controlling you, please give us a call. Any story, any time, any place, we are here for you.

Read about Ministry of Concern
The Ministry of Concern was preceded by the formation of the Orleans Migrant Ministry in 1955 which started as a summer-only ministry. As agricultural work became more mechanized, many of the migrant families chose to permanently settle in the area suggesting the need for a year-round Director. As a result, farmers and church leaders from Genesee and Orleans counties decided to form a single agency. In April of 1968, the Genesee Orleans Ministry of Concern was incorporated as a donor-supported non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Today, the Genesee Orleans Ministry of Concern helps people in need in our communities with personal care items, prescription co-pays, vision and dental assistance, furniture needs and we provide programs for our youth to develop skills to succeed. We also help with certain utility bills, and limited assistance with emergency shelter.
GOMOC is constantly re-evaluating its programs and considering areas of expansion to meet the changing needs of our communities and welcomes any suggestions and/or feedback.

OCCS is a non-denominational k-12 school dedicated to developing students through academics and a Christian world view.
The purpose of the Orleans County Christian School is to provide the opportunity to come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and to develop spiritual maturity in the Holy Spirit while teaching Christian approaches to life. To this end, the education provided at this school will encompass spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. Every program at OCCS—from mathematics to music, from history to home economics—is presented with the knowledge that God created people and gave us the universe to explore and enjoy. This knowledge inspires us to pursue the highest possible quality in everything we do. Our school is an extension of Christian family life, and we take seriously our obligation to be partners with parents in providing the best possible education for our students. We are dedicated to bringing every student to his or her highest potential —academically, socially, and spiritually.
